We don’t set a minimum order value so you’ll have the option to order in realistic quantities; whether that’s 100s or 1000s. How to recycle our products

Our products are either compostable or biodegradable and are clearly labelled so you’ll know how to dispose of them. Compostable products can be either recycled by your local council in an industrial composter or disposed of in your garden compost bin. The industrial composting process takes around 90 days whilst the process will take longer in a garden compost bin, depending on conditions and the method you use.

Biodegradable products can be recycled in a special industrial composter, although this is not currently offered by all local councils. With this in mind, please check the situation in your area.

Closing the loop

At Single Use Alternatives we are working hard to close the loop which exists between the different types of plastic alternatives available and the variations in local authority recycling facilities. As new biodegradable food packaging products come on to the market, a different infrastructure is required to sort and process them, with processing plants varying from area to area.

We know that the products are available to buy but there is a lack of consumer awareness, compounded by difficulties in finding them and a perception that they will cost more. It is our aim to change this by offering a wide range of cost-effective alternatives to single use plastics, available in realistic quantities for convenient delivery direct to your door.
