Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. At Single Use Alternatives we understand that cafes, catering businesses and takeaways rely upon a source of cheap, disposable products. We also know that affordable alternatives to plastic can be expensive and difficult to find; after all, why should you have to pay more for such products?
Our product range has been designed to offer a wide range of convenient, affordable disposable catering products including single use plastic cup alternatives. From coffee cups and deli pots, through to paper cups, food wrap and cutlery, our products are made from recycled materials to help you, and your customers, reduce plastic waste.

We aim to make our products available at affordable prices to buy in realistic quantities. We don’t set a minimum order value so you’ll be able to order what you need, whilst our mobile-friendly website is secure, easy to use and offers a range of low-cost delivery options. Designed to make the switch to single use plastic alternatives as easy as possible, it’s our aim to make the ethical choice more straightforward for you.
Recycling our products
We know we need to change our approach and thanks to increased public awareness, aiming to ‘Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle’ is more important than ever to businesses, organisations and individuals.
Our products are grouped into categories according to how they should be recycled: compostable or biodegradable. Although many of our products such as single use plastic cup alternatives, for example, look and feel like plastic, they shouldn’t be recycled with other plastic waste as they are made from plant-based materials.
Our compostable products can either be disposed of by your local council in an industrial composter with food waste, or in your garden compost bin. Industrial composting takes under 90 days but please note that the process will take longer at home as it depends on the type of bin you have and environmental conditions.
Biodegradable products can be disposed of by some local councils in special industrial composting facilities too, however this isn’t available in all areas. We recommend checking the situation with your local council, or to contact us at closetheloop@singleusealternatives.co.uk
