Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective range of high quality, alternative products.

Eco food packaging delivered direct to your door
If you run a catering business, cafe, coffee shop or takeaway, you’re likely to be well aware of the problems surrounding single use plastics. Because your business relies upon low-cost plastic food packaging, making the move to eco friendly alternatives which tend to be expensive and harder to find can be a real barrier. Our range of compostable and biodegradable food packaging has been carefully designed to offer the best of both worlds by providing cost-effective, convenient solutions.
Because we buy in bulk, our products are more than likely to be comparable in cost to your single use plastic counterparts and with low-cost, convenient delivery, including next day delivery, we can provide you with the things you need at the right price. In addition, because we don’t set a minimum order value you’ll be able to order hundreds and not thousands.
From compostable catering cling film and waxed deli sheets, through to portion pots, soup containers and chip scoops, our range includes products ideal for use in cafes, takeaways, catering or at home. We also offer a wide range of coffee cups, clear cups, straws, napkins and tableware, ideal for commercial use, entertaining and parties.
How are products are recycled?
At present there are variations in how different local authorities recycle waste and we’re working hard to address this problem. Our products are designed to be disposed of either by bio-degrading or composting. Products are clearly labelled so you (and your customers) will know what to do.
Compostable products are designed to be recycled in either an industrial composter used by your local council, or in your compost bin at home. Home composting takes longer and will depend on conditions and the method used, whilst the industrial composting process takes around 90 days. Biodegradable products must also be disposed of in an industrial composter; however this facility isn’t offered by all local councils so you’ll need to check the situation in your area.
Although many of our products look and feel exactly like plastic, they must not be placed with other plastic recycling waste.
