At Single Use Alternatives we supply a wide range of compostable plastic packaging, designed to provide environmentally friendly, cost effective alternatives to regular oil based plastic. Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Cost effective eco friendly food packaging delivered direct to your door
As we all become increasingly aware of the problems caused by plastic pollution, it’s natural to look for environmentally friendly alternatives to single use plastics. However, because sustainable products often cost more and can be difficult to source, changing our ways isn't always easy.
It’s our aim to provide you with products which can be comparable in price to plastics, available for convenient, cost-effective delivery direct to your door. Our website is secure and easy to use, and because we don’t set a minimum order value, you’ll be able to order in realistic quantities; whether you need 1000s of a product or just 100s.
Biodegradable plastic alternatives and compostable packaging
Our products are clearly labelled as being certified compostable or biodegradable so you’ll be able to choose the right ones for you. Please note that although many of our products look like other types of plastic, they are completely plastic free and are made from polylactic acid or PLA, which is a renewable, sustainable alternative.
Our compostable packaging products are bio based and designed to be disposed of with food waste in an industrial composting facility, or in your compost bin at home. Biodegradable products can be disposed of by some local councils in special industrial composters, however this service isn’t available in all areas so please check the situation where you live.
Our mission
We know that it’s not always easy to stick to the five R’s of recycling: ‘Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle.’ However, by choosing our products over single use plastics you’ll be helping to protect the planet from plastic pollution.
