Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Our eco takeaway food containers product range
Our range has everything you need to package and serve a wide range of takeaway food and drinks including coffee and hot drinks, sandwich containers, deli pots, takeaway cartons, film, wrap and eco friendly disposable cutlery. You’ll find that our products are robust and although some might look as though they are made from plastic, they are entirely plastic-free. Our products can be purchased by business customers or private individuals and to ensure complete flexibility, we don’t set a minimum order value so you can order in quantities which work for you - whether that’s 100s or 1000s. In addition, we offer a range of flexible, cost-effective UK mainland delivery services including next day delivery.
Why make the switch to eco food packaging?
Plastic has been in commercial production since the mid-20th century and since then over 8 billion tons have been produced. When you consider that the majority of this plastic still exists in some form, something has to be done. Unfortunately most of the disposable plastic items used by catering and street food businesses ends up in landfill, as plastic pollution in the environment or incineration. As plastic takes at least 400 years to degrade or pollutes the air when burnt, we need to find sustainable alternatives to single use plastics.
Although a wide range of eco friendly takeaway food containers and packaging is now available, items tend to be historically expensive or difficult to buy in realistic quantities. It is our aim to change this by offering a range of sustainable alternatives which are competitively priced and easy to order. Recycling our eco friendly takeaway boxes
We know that recycling can be complicated and it’s hard to know where and if many plastic items can be recycled. To make things easier for you and your customers, our products are categorised according to recycling type: compostable or biodegradable.
Compostable products should be recycled either by your local council with other composting waste, or in your garden compost bin. Please note that compostable items take longer to degrade in a home composting bin as the process depends on the method used and environmental conditions. Biodegradable items must be recycled in a special industrial composter, however not all local councils offer this type of recycling at present so please check the situation where you live first.
Remember that although many of the items we sell look and feel like plastic, they mustn’t be disposed of with other plastic recycling waste.
