Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective range of high quality, alternative products.

The problem with plastic
The facts behind plastic pollution are startling and when you consider that we have produced more plastic over the last ten years than during the entire last century, and that 50 percent of plastic is used just once before being thrown away, something has to be done. On the other hand, we understand that many catering and hospitality businesses rely upon a cheap and convenient supply of single use plastic items.

Our biodegradable plastic product range
Our eco food packaging range includes everything you need to sell and serve food and drinks. Although many of our products look and feel like plastic, they are made from plant-based materials which should be biodegraded or composted. This means that they shouldn’t be disposed of with other plastic recycling.
Compostable items are suitable for composting by your local council with other composting waste, or at home in your garden compost bin where the process will take longer, depending on conditions and the method you use. Biodegradable items need to be broken down in special industrial composters; however at present not all local councils are able to accept biodegradable waste for recycling so please check the situation where you live first.
