Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Our product range
Our range of eco friendly food packaging offers great value for money and is ideal for serving a huge range of food and drinks products. From double wall coffee cups, paper cups and disposable cutlery, through to ice cream cups, hot food pots, cake boxes and much more, our products are food safe and entirely plastic-free.
Although many of our products look and feel like plastic, they are made from plant based materials and are designed to be compostable or biodegradable. Offering a great alternative to single use plastics, our eco friendly takeaway boxes and food packaging products are cost-effective and easy to order in quantities which are right for you: whether that’s 100s or 1000s.
How to recycle our products
If we are going to reduce our use of single use plastics it’s important that recycling should be as simple and convenient as possible. To make things as easy as possible for you or your customers, our products are categorised and labelled according to recycling type: biodegradable or compostable.
Compostable items can either be recycled by your local council with other composting waste or in your garden compost bin. Please note that the composting process takes around 90 days in industrial composting conditions but will take longer in your composting bin at home, depending on the method you use and conditions.
All products are, in theory, biodegradable. However, when disposed of in landfill, plastic can take up to 1000 years to fully biodegrade. Much like composting, the biodegrading process needs oxygen and although our biodegradable items break down much quicker than plastics, the process requires a special industrial scale composter. At present not all local authorities have the facilities to do this so please check the situation in your local area first.
