Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Our range of eco friendly products
Our range of biodegradable food packaging products includes everything you need to run your takeaway or catering business. From containers for hot and cold food and drinks, through to paper bags, cups, lids and stirrers,, you’ll find that not only are our products eco friendly, they’re affordable too.
We understand that many catering businesses face the challenge of finding products which are cost effective but also safe for the planet. It is our aim to keep our prices as low as possible and you’ll find our products can be comparable in cost to the cheap plastic items you’ve used before. Our products are entirely free from plastic and because we don’t set a minimum order value, you’ll have the option to order in quantities which are right for you: whether that’s in the 100s or 1000s.
We also know that convenience and practicality are important and our secure website has been designed with these issues in mind. Our website is user-friendly, mobile-friendly and accepts a range of payment methods. In addition, we offer a selection of convenient UK delivery options including next day delivery if you need it.
Helping you to ‘reduce, refuse, reuse, repurpose and recycle’
We all know we have to change our ways but it’s not always easy, especially when sustainable products cost more and can be harder to find. At Single Use Alternatives it is our mission to make the five ‘R’s’ of recycling as simple as possible by providing a wide range of affordable takeaway packaging products which are designed to be easily recycled.
Our products are either biodegradable or compostable and although some of them might look like plastic, they must be recycled in one of the following ways:
- Compostable items can be disposed of with other food waste, ready for collection by your local council. Alternatively, they can also be disposed of in your compost bin at home (note, this will take up to 12 months in a well managed compost heap).
- Biodegradable items are accepted by some local councils who have special industrial composting facilities. However, this isn’t available in all areas at the moment so please check the situation where you live first.
