Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Although eco friendly alternatives are available, they have often cost historically more and can be difficult to source in realistic quantities. Why make the switch to vegware?
Alongside our mission to make it as simple and affordable as possible to ditch single use plastics, it’s our aim to provide information on sustainable alternatives. Why are we doing this? When you consider that since plastic was first commercially manufactured, more than 8 billion tons has been produced and of this, over 6 billion tons is now in landfill or plastic pollution in the environment. To further compound the problem, plastic can take more than 400 years to degrade. Something needs to be done and we’re hoping that by helping reduce your impact on the environment, it’ll be a big win for you and the planet.
Vegware plant based PLA products are made from renewable, lower carbon, recycled or reclaimed materials. Once a vegware item is no longer required, it can be commercially composted with food waste, where accepted by your local council. When composted in this way, disposable catering waste is turned into high quality compost which, in turn can be used in agriculture and horticulture to nourish the soil and grow healthy plants. Alternatively, some vegware items can also be composted in your home compost bin, however, the process will take longer as it depends on environmental conditions and the method you use.
