Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Budget-friendly afternoon tea takeaway boxes made from plants not plastic
Plastic pollution is having a massive impact upon our environment. When you consider that the vast majority of the plastic that’s ever produced still exists in some form, and that plastic takes up to 400 years to fully degrade, something has to be done. Choosing products made from plants and not plastics is a great step to take as small changes such as this all add up to make a big difference.
We understand that catering businesses, coffee shops and takeaways rely upon a cheap and convenient supply of single use plastic items such as food bags, cups, lids and cutlery. It is our aim to help make it easier to choose eco friendly alternatives by offering flexible ordering (buy 100s not 1000s), bulk discounts, free samples, easy account management and cost savings of up to 20% on wholesale prices.
Our products are 100% plastic free and include a huge range of practical products designed for serving and packing food and drinks. From attractive afternoon tea boxes including pots for clotted cream, through to coffee cups, food bags, tableware and plates, switching to our affordable products will help you protect your profits and the planet.
How to recycle our products
To make recycling as straightforward as possible, our products are categorised as either biodegradable or compostable. Compostable items can be recycled by your local council with other compostable waste in an industrial composting facility. Alternatively, compostable products can besuitable for recycling in your garden compost bin but please note that the process will take longer as it depends on the method you use and conditions.
Biodegradable items must be recycled in a special industrial composting facility, however this type of recycling facility isn’t available in all areas so please check the situation where you live first.
Get in touch with Single Use Alternatives
Switching to products made from plants and not plastic is a great way to help ‘close the loop’. Our products create less greenhouse gasses and use less energy during their manufacture. Once they have been used, they are returned back to enrich the soil through the composting process. Ultimately this keeps fossil fuels in the ground, which has to be the objective if we are to achieve net zero and mitigate climate change.
