Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Our product range offers a practical and cost-effective way for catering businesses or individuals to avoid using disposable plastic items. Sustainable food packaging products at realistic prices
Whether you’re looking for ice cream pots for your catering business, or compostable plates for entertaining at home, you’ll find that our compostable or biodegradable food packaging products are ideal for a wide range of uses. Knowing which products can be recycled and how to recycle them can be confusing so we categorise items according to recycling type:
- Compostable products can either be disposed of by your local council in an industrial composter or in your garden compost bin. The composting process takes around 90 days in an industrial composter but will be longer in a home compost bin, with the time depending on environmental conditions and the method you use.
- Biodegradable products need to be disposed of in a special industrial composting facility; however this isn’t offered by all local councils at the moment. Please check with your local council first to confirm what the situation is in your area.
