Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Vegware Forks
We supply over 400 products made from plants and not oil based plastic. Our dedicated products include vegware forks, knives and spoons, cups, lids and stirrers, along with food packaging such as takeaway cartons, deli pots and platters, wraps, bags and labels.
You’ll find that our products are just as robust and practical as their plastic counterparts - the difference is that they can help you reduce your carbon footprint. To make it as easy for you to switch to our products, we ensure that they are easy to order - we don’t set a minimum order value - from our user-friendly, fully-secure website. Our prices are competitive, with discounts available on wholesale prices. Last and by no means least, we offer an efficient delivery service, with next day delivery available if required.
Our products are made from renewable sources and as such shouldn’t be disposed of with plastic recycling waste. Instead, our products are either fully compostable or biodegradable. Compostable products are suitable for collection with food waste - we recommend that you check locally for compostables collections.
Biodegradable items need to be processed in special industrial composting facilities if they are to degrade in a timely manner. At present not all local councils have this type of facility available so again, we suggest you check locally for more information on the situation in your area.
Why we need to make a change
Although switching to sustainable alternatives to single use plastics might seem like a small change to make, the more of us who make the change, the better it will be for the planet. Since plastic was first commercially manufactured, more than 8 billion tons have been produced. Of this, over 6 billion tons is waste which has either ended up in landfill, incinerated, or as pollution in the environment. When you consider that plastic can take over 400 years to degrade, something has to change.
