Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Although environmentally friendly alternatives to the single use cups, food cartons and cutlery you use in your business are widely available, they have often been more expensive and can be difficult to source in realistic quantities. Such issues can prove to be a real deterrent; putting many business owners off making the switch to eco-friendly alternatives.
At Single Use Alternatives it is our aim to make it as simple and affordable as possible to choose fast food packaging made from plants and not plastic. Our products are all 100% plastic free and are either biodegradable or compostable. We don’t set a minimum order value so you’ll be able to buy in quantities which are right for you; whether you need 100 takeaway boxes or 1000s. Our website is user friendly, mobile first and has secure ordering with easy online account management.
Our product range
You’ll find that our products include everything you need to serve and sell food and drinks. From our range of eco-friendly hot food packaging such as fish and chip trays, pizza boxes, and burger boxes, through to cups, lids and stirrers, our food grade products are practical and great value for money.
As our products are either compostable or biodegradable, they mustn’t be recycled with other plastic recycling waste. Instead, compostable products are suitable for collection by your local council with other compostable food waste (check locally), or for composting in your garden compost bin. Biodegradable items should be composted in special industrial composting facilities, however this type of recycling isn’t currently available in all areas of the UK, so please check with your local council first.
Our mission
By offering a wide range of sustainable alternatives to single use plastics, available at affordable prices and in realistic quantities, we’re aiming to help us all reduce our carbon footprints. Although making the switch from plastics to plastic-free might seem like a small step to take, the more of us who make this step, the more effective the end result will be.
Since plastic was first commercially manufactured, over 8 billion tons have been produced and of this, more than 6 billion tons is now waste in landfill or plastic pollution in the environment. To compound the problem further, plastic can take more than 400 years to fully degrade, whilst a large proportion of plastic is made for just one single use before being thrown away. Something has to change and so switching to our sustainable packaging products is not only a big win for you, but also for the planet.
