Thanks to the problems caused by plastic pollution in the environment, choosing single use plastic bottle alternatives is more important than ever. Unfortunately, the majority of single use plastic water bottles end up in landfill, incineration or polluting the environment. When you consider that plastic can take up to 400 years to fully degrade, and that the majority of the 6.3 billion tons that’s been produced still exists in some form, something has to be done.
Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective range of high quality, alternative products.

Now that increasing numbers of us are aware of the impact that plastic waste is having upon the planet, we’re looking for alternatives to plastic bottles, coffee cups and other disposable items. However, although alternatives are available, they have tended to historically cost more and are difficult to source in realistic quantities. In addition, the range of new plastics and alternatives available can be confusing and complicated to recycle.
At Single Use Alternatives, it is our aim to provide a wide range of viable, plant based alternatives. Our products are all made from plants, not plastic, and are available for convenient delivery direct to your door. We don’t set a minimum order value so you can order in quantities which are right for you, and our website is mobile first, user friendly and offers fully secure ordering. Last and by no means least, we are happy to offer advice on recycling our products which are either fully compostable or biodegradable.
Our product range
Our products are designed to offer ethical, sustainable alternatives to the single use, disposable items widely used by events and catering businesses, coffee shops, takeaways, cafes and food stalls. From cups, lids, straws and stirrers, through to food containers, takeaway cartons, wrap and bags, we have everything you need to serve hot and cold food and drink to your customers.
Our products are highly quality, with many made by leading eco packaging manufacturers including Biopak and Vegware. Equally as robust as their plastic counterparts, our product range offers practical alternatives which don’t cost the earth.
How to recycle our products
Our cups and single use plastic bottle alternatives are either fully compostable or biodegradable. Compostable items should be disposed of with compostable food waste for collection by your local council. Alternatively, they are also suitable for home composting, however, the process will take longer as it depends on environmental conditions and the method you use.
Biodegradable items should be composted in a special industrial composting facility. However, this type of composting facility isn’t currently available throughout the UK, so please check the situation where you live first.
