Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Our product range
The products we sell are ideal for businesses who serve takeaway food and drinks such as cafes, coffee shops, events businesses, food stalls, farmers markets and more. In addition, our products are also ideal for entertaining at home.
Our products are all made from 100% renewable resources and include a huge range of practical, high-quality items including cups and lids for hot and cold drinks, deli containers, takeaway trays and boxes, produce bags and gift bags, sheets, film and food wrap. With a wide selection to choose from, you’ll find it easy to find alternatives to styrofoam, polystyrene foam and petroleum-based packaging materials.
We know that increasing numbers of food and catering businesses want to make the switch to packaging made from renewable materials in order to reduce their environmental impact and carbon footprints. However, although alternatives to plastics are now available, they have tended to be more expensive and difficult to source in realistic quantities.

How to recycle our products
Although many of our products look very similar to plastic, they are made from plant-based materials and as such are either fully compostable or biodegradable.Compostable plastics are suitable for collection by your local council with compostable food waste (check locally), or for disposal in your garden compost bin. Please note that home composting takes longer and will depend on the method you use and environmental conditions.
Biodegradable items are suitable for composting in special industrial composting facilities, however, this type of facility isn’t currently available in all areas of the UK.
