Thanks to recent worldwide publicity, we are more aware than ever of the problems caused by plastic pollution. The majority of the plastic that’s produced is manufactured for just one single use before being thrown away. When you bear in mind that plastic can take over 400 years to fully degrade, something has to be done.
Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Our pizza takeaway boxes
Alternatives to plastic single use takeaway and food packaging are available; however they often cost more and can be difficult to buy in realistic quantities. To compound the problem further, the range of new plastics and plastic alternatives can be confusing. In effect, what might seem like a more ethical alternative, can result in other consequences.
At Single Use Alternatives it is our mission to offer something different, with a dedicated range of sustainable, affordable, plastic-free products which are available for convenient delivery direct to your door. In addition, because we don’t set a minimum order value, you’ll be able to order in quantities which are right for you: whether you need 100 pizza takeaway boxes or 1000s.
The products we sell are designed for serving takeaway food and drinks in cafes, coffee shops, farmers markets, takeaways and events businesses, or for entertaining at home. From eco-friendly burger and pizza boxes, takeaway trays and cups, through to sandwich cartons, deli pots and food wrap, our products are durable, practicable and attractive.
All of our products are made from plants and not plastics and as such mustn’t be recycled with other plastic recycling waste. Instead, our products are either compostable or biodegradable. Compostable products are suitable for collection by your local council with other compostable food waste (check locally), or for composting in your garden compost bin. Please note that the home composting process takes longer and depends on environmental conditions and the method you use.
Biodegradable items are suitable for collection by local councils who have the necessary industrial composting facilities. Unfortunately, this type of composting facility isn’t currently available in all areas of the UK, so please check the situation where you live first.
Our mission
Although switching from plastic takeaway packaging to our sustainable alternatives might seem like a small step to take, it will make a difference. At Single Use Alternatives we understand how important it is for many businesses to have a convenient, affordable supply of catering disposables. We know we’re not going to remove single use plastics from society altogether, however by providing an affordable supply of a choice of eco-friendly alternatives, it’s our aim to make the choice easier for you.
