Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective range of high quality, alternative products.

From non plastic coffee cups and cups for cold drinks, through to food packaging and tableware, our products are ideal for use in coffee shops, takeaways, catering businesses or entertaining at home.

We know our approach to single use plastics has to change, but as alternative products often cost more, this deters many business owners and consumers from making the switch. Our product range
Our online shop has a wide range of products designed to make it as easy as possible to ditch single use plastics. Whether you run a catering business or are shopping for home use, our product range includes cups and lids, food containers, sheets and film, tableware and accessories.
From leak proof coffee cups and non plastic cups for cold drinks, through to portion pots, soup containers and cutlery, our products are sustainable, practical and affordable.
How our products are recycled
The variations in how UK local authorities approach recycling is yet another factor which increases the confusion surrounding the disposal of single use plastics. We’re working hard to change this and by closing the loop between local authorities and suppliers.
To make things as straightforward as possible for you, the materials used in our products are broken down into two recycling types: biodegradable and compostable. Biodegradable products will degrade in a timely manner when processed in a special industrial composter. At present not all local authorities have the facilities to do this so it’s important to check the situation in your area. Compostable products can be disposed of with other compostable waste by your local council in an industrial composter where the process takes around 90 days. Alternatively, these products can also be composted in your compost bin at home but the process will take longer and depends on the method used and conditions.
Please note that although many of our products look and feel exactly like plastic they are not and shouldn’t be disposed of with other plastic recycling.
