Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Why choose biodegradable packaging?
The problems caused by plastic pollution are big news these days. Thanks to increased public awareness, more and more of us understand that single use items such as plastic bottles and plastic bags, could take up to 400 years to fully degrade. Although switching to environmentally friendly packaging might seem like a small step, ultimately it could make a big difference.
Recyclable? plastics are available but these products can be confusing, whilst appearing to be more ethical than they actually are. To compound the problem further, although there are viable alternatives on the market, they tend to be expensive and difficult to source.

How to recycle our products
Although many of our products look similar to plastic they are made from plant based alternatives such as corn starch. As a result, producing these products results in significantly less fossil fuel emissions.
Our products are either compostable or biodegradable and are clearly labelled, so you and your customer will know how to dispose of them. Compostable products can be composted at home or by your local council with other compostable food waste. Biodegradable products are suitable for recycling in special industrial composting facilities; however this isn’t available in all areas so please check with your local council first.
