Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

How to recycle our products
Although some of our products look very similar to their plastic counterparts, they are made from plant-based materials and include wood and bamboo cutlery. As a result, they mustn’t be disposed of with other plastic recycling waste but are instead biodegradable or compostable. Our products are just as durable as plastic and because they are extremely robust and strong, are ideal for use as reusable cutlery sets.
Compostable items are suitable for collection by your local council with other compostable food waste (check locally). Alternatively, they can be composted in your garden compost bin where the process will take longer, depending on environmental conditions and the method you use.
Biodegradable items are suitable for collection in areas where the local council has the special industrial composting facilities required. As this type of facility isn’t available in all areas, we recommend that you check the situation where you live first.
