Single Use Alternatives is a young business, absolutely passionate about making it easy and affordable for businesses and individuals to choose sustainable alternatives to single use plastics. Our website has over 400 products made from plants not oil based plastic, including eco-friendly party supplies such as palm leaf plates.
Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Cost-effective eco friendly tableware
From paper straws, cups, lids and stirrers, through to plates, cutlery and ice cream pots, our dedicated range of planet friendly products includes everything you need to serve food and drinks at your party or event. Our products are also ideal for use in coffee shops, takeaway businesses, catering businesses and food stalls, or for entertaining at home.
You’ll find that our products are just as durable and practical as their plastic counterparts. The difference is that they’re made from sustainable plant based materials instead of plastic. As a result, once your party is over, our products shouldn’t be disposed of with other plastic recycling waste.
The products we supply are either fully compostable or biodegradable. For compostable items, we suggest you check locally for compostables collections in local food waste. Alternatively, home compostable items can be placed in your home compost bin. However, it’s important to note that the home composting process takes longer than industrial composting as it depends on environmental conditions and the method you choose.
Biodegradable items require special industrial composting facilities if they are to degrade in a timely manner. At present, not all local councils have this type of the facility so we suggest that you check the situation in your local area first.
