Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.
To find out more about our products simply browse through our website. If you have any questions we’d love to hear from you: please complete the enquiry form on our contact page.
Our eco friendly drink stirrer range
From cocktail stirrers and straws, through to wooden stirrers, cups and lids, we have everything you need to serve drinks in your bar, café, catering or events business, or when throwing a party at home. Our products are made from plants and not plastic; offering a sustainable way to savour your favourite drinks, without having to worry about your impact upon your carbon footprint.
Alongside our range of cups and drinks accessories, we also offer a wide range of takeaway food packaging including sandwich cartons, food trays, deli pots, pizza boxes and much more. In addition, we also supply eco-friendly food wrap, bags, labels and cutlery.
What’s so different about Single Use Alternatives?
Although a wide range of alternatives to plastic disposables have been available for some time now, they tend to be confusing and complicated to buy; often with a higher price tag. It’s our aim to offer something different, and our products are cost-effective - we offer discounts on bulk orders and savings of up to 20% on wholesale - and are clearly labelled as either compostable or biodegradable. We don’t set a minimum order value, so you’ll be able to order in quantities which work for you; whether you need 100 eco-friendly drink stirrers or 1000s. You’ll also find that our website is mobile-first, user-friendly and secure, with easy account management available.
How to recycle our eco-friendly drink stirrers and straws
Our drink stirrers and straws are clearly labelled, so you’ll know how to recycle them once they’ve been used. Compostable items such as paper straws and wooden stirrers are suitable for collection by your local council with other compostable food waste. Alternatively, these items can also be placed in your garden compost bin, but please note that the process will take longer as it depends on environmental conditions and the method you use.
Biodegradable items can be collected by local councils, who have suitable industrial composting facilities available to degrade them. Since this type of facility isn’t yet available in all areas of the UK, we suggest you contact your local council first to check the situation where you live.
