Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Affordable eco-friendly catering disposables
We are a young business which is absolutely passionate about making it easy and affordable to choose sustainable alternatives to the single use plastic disposables widely used in cafes, coffee shops, takeaways, outside events and catering businesses.
We supply over 400 products made from plant based materials instead of oil based plastic, including compostable paper plates, cups and takeaway boxes, along with deli pots, palm leaf plates and platters, food wrap, labels and much more.
At Single Use Alternatives we understand that many businesses rely on a cheap, convenient supply of single use plastic disposables. This is why we aim to offer a wide choice of realistically priced sustainable alternatives, available to buy in quantities which are right for you. We don’t set a minimum order value so you’ll have the option to buy the amount you need, whether that’s 100 compostable eco friendly disposable plates and cutlery, or 1000s! Our website is fully secure, user-friendly and mobile-first, with easy account set up and hassle-free re-ordering available.
Catering disposables made from renewable sources
Because the products we sell are made from renewable sources, they mustn’t be disposed of with other plastic recycling waste. Instead, our products are either fully compostable or biodegradable.
We suggest that you check locally for compostables collections in local food waste, or add home compostable items to your garden compost bin. It’s important to note, though, that it takes longer for items to fully degrade in a garden compost bin, as the length of time required will depend on environmental conditions and the method you use.
Items such as biodegradable plates and cups require special industrial composting facilities if they are to fully degrade in a timely manner. For items such as these, we recommend that you check with your local council to confirm whether biodegradable items are suitable for collection where you live.
