Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

We have the UK’s most comprehensive website which has over 400 compostable or biodegradable food packaging products. Ideal for use in coffee shops, cafes, catering and events businesses, takeaways, food stalls or entertaining at home, our products are ideal for businesses and individuals looking for affordable and sustainable food packaging.
To make it as easy as possible for you to switch to eco friendly food packaging, you’ll find we offer discounts of up to 20% on manufacturer prices. We don’t set a minimum order value so you’ll be able to order in quantities which are right for you, whether you need 100 cups or 1000s. Our website is user-friendly, fully secure and mobile first, with simple account management and re-ordering. Last and by no means least, we offer cost-effective UK-wide delivery, with next day delivery available if required.
The products we supply are made from plant based materials such as PLA, rather than oil based plastics. As such, they are either fully compostable or biodegradable and are clearly labelled so you’ll know how to dispose of them after use.
Compostable items are suitable for collection with food waste, however we suggest you check locally to confirm whether compostable collections are available in your area. Alternatively, home compostable items are suitable for adding to your home compost bin, but please note that the length of time the process takes depends on environmental conditions and the method you use.
Biodegradable items require special industrial composting facilities if they are to fully degrade in a timely manner. At present, this type of composting facility isn’t available in all areas of the UK, so please check with your local council first.
