Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Why Single Use Alternatives?
Over recent years there has been significant worldwide publicity on the problems caused by plastic pollution in the environment. Plastic can take up to 400 years to fully degrade and because the majority of plastic products either end up in landfill or as pollution, the impact on the environment is catastrophic.
Something has to be done and although alternatives to polystyrene packaging are available, they have tended to cost more and be difficult to source in realistic quantities. In addition, thanks to the different types of plastics now available, choosing the most environmentally friendly products can be confusing and time consuming.
It is our aim to offer something different and you’ll find that we supply a wide range of food-friendly sustainable packaging materials and products, including practical alternatives to styrofoam and polystyrene. From cups, lids, straws and stirrers, through to food containers, takeaway packaging, sheets, film and tableware, you’ll find that our products are realistically priced, with discounts available on bulk orders.
Our products are ideal for use by cafes, coffee shops, takeaways and events business, or for entertaining at home. We know that you don’t always want to buy in huge quantities and as such we don’t set a minimum order value so you’ll be able to order what’s right for you: whether that’s 100 coffee cups or 1000s. There’s no need to compromise on quality either as our products are practical and durable, with items made by leading brands including Vegware and Biopak.
Do your bit for the planet with our 100% sustainableproducts
Our products are made from 100% renewable resources and because they are made from plants, not recycled plastics, must be either composted or biodegraded.
Compostable items are suitable for collection by your local council with composting food waste (check locally). Alternatively, compostable items can be composted in your garden compost bin, however the process will take longer as it depends on the method you use and environmental conditions.
At present, some local councils are able to collect biodegradable items for recycling. However, because biodegradable items must be composted in special industrial composting facilities, this type of waste collection isn’t yet available in all areas of the UK. Please get in touch with your local council for further information.
