Compostable, biodegradable, disposable
At present there are huge variations in local recycling facilities throughout the UK. This makes it harder for businesses and individuals to dispose of single use items in a sustainable way. At Single Use Alternatives we are working with manufacturers, suppliers and local councils to try to address this problem by ‘closing the loop’.
Our products are designed to be disposed of either by composting or biodegrading. To make things easier for you, they are clearly labelled so you’ll know what to do with them, helping you choose products suitable for recycling in your local area - more information on this here.
Biodegradable and compostable products can be recycled in local authority industrial composting facilities where the composting process takes around 90 days. Compostable products can also be recycled at home by putting them in your compost bin, but please note that the process will take longer and depends on conditions and the method you use.
