Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Coffee cup lids made from plants not plastic
Our compostable coffee cups, lids, stirrers and food packaging products are plastic free, made entirely from renewable plant-based materials. We also offer a dedicated range of catering supplies including compostable packaging for takeaway sandwiches, hot and cold meals, pizzas, fish and chips, grazing platters, cakes, confectionery and ice cream.
You’ll find that our products are just as practical and robust as their plastic counterparts, with the added benefit of being great for the environment! With a dedicated range to suit all requirements, our product selection includes leading brands such as Vegware and Biopac.
How should our products be recycled?
Our products are either fully compostable or biodegradable. This means that they mustn’t be disposed of with plastic recycling waste, but should instead be commercially composted in an industrial composting facility. For compostable items, we recommend that you check locally for compostables collections in local food waste. Alternatively, home compostable items are suitable for home composting. However, please note that it will take longer for items to degrade in a timely manner, as the speed of the process depends on environmental conditions and the method you use.
For biodegradable items, at present not all local councils have the special industrial composting facilities required. As a result, we also recommend you check the situation in your area.
