Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

Products made from plants not plastic
We have the UK’s most comprehensive website, dedicated to providing sustainable alternatives to the single use, disposable items widely used in takeaways, coffee shops, cafes, catering businesses, outside events and farmers markets, or for entertaining at home. With over 400 high quality products to choose from, we supply everything you need, from biodegradable serving platters and sandwich cartons, through to cups, cutlery, food wrap and labels.
Our products are just as durable and practical as their plastic counterparts, with items made by leading brands including Biopac and Vegware. We don’t set a minimum order value so you’ll be able to order in quantities which work for you: whether you need 100 biodegradable serving platters or 1000s! Our prices are competitive, with discounts available on wholesale orders and cost-effective delivery options available.
All of our products are 100% plastic free and as such shouldn’t be disposed of with other plastic recycling waste. Instead they are compostable or biodegradable, so we suggest that you check locally for compostables collection in local food waste.
At present, each UK local authority varies in the recycling facilities they offer. Biodegradable items require special industrial scale composters if they are to fully biodegrade in a timely manner. Because not every local authority is able to do this at the moment, we recommend that you check the situation in your area first.
Our mission
At Single Use Alternatives, we understand that takeaway food businesses rely upon a convenient source of cheap, single use disposable items such as cups, cutlery and cartons. However, because plastic can take up to 400 years to fully degrade and over 6 billion tons of plastic waste is now either in landfill, incinerated or plastic pollution in the environment, we need to change our ways.
It is our mission to provide a cost-effective supply of practical plastic-free food and drink packaging for takeaway businesses.
