Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.

From pots for ice cream and hot foods, through to fast food containers, paper bags, salad bowls and coffee cups, our products are designed to help you protect the planet.
The products we sell are designed to serve exactly the same functions as disposable plastics and can be comparable in cost. The big difference though is that they are all completely plastic-free. Durable, affordable and practical; our product range has been chosen to provide viable alternatives to the single use plastic items your business relies upon.
How to recycle our products
We are committed to providing you with sustainable, ethical alternatives to single use plastics. It is our mission to help the circular economy by contributing to a significant reduction in the amount of plastic waste which goes into landfill or incineration.
Although many of our products look almost identical to their plastic counterparts they mustn’t be recycled with other plastic recycling waste. Our products are either compostable or biodegradable and should be recycled in the following ways:
- Compostable: compostable items can either be collected by your local council with other food waste and then disposed of in an industrial composting facility. Alternatively, these items can be composted in your home compost bin.
- Biodegradable: biodegradable are suitable for collection by some local councils who have special industrial composting machines. However, please note that this facility isn’t currently available in all areas, so please check the situation where you live first.
At present, each UK local authority has a slightly different approach to collecting and processing recyclable products. We are currently working with partners and local authorities to provide a solution and make it easier for you to ‘refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose and recycle.’
