Why choose sustainable catering disposables?
Many catering, outside events and takeaway food businesses rely upon having a cheap and convenient supply of single use disposable items such as drinking straws and cups. However, the majority of these items end up in either landfill or as plastic pollution in the environment, having been used just once.
Since plastic was first commercially manufactured, more than 800 billion tons has been produced. As plastic can take up to 400 years to fully degrade, it’s clear that we need to change our ways and find eco friendly alternatives.

Compostable items are suitable for collection with local food waste where available, check locally. Alternatively, compostable items can be placed in your garden compost bin, but please note that it will take longer for items to fully degrade in a timely manner.
For biodegradable items, these must be processed in special industrial composting facilities, however this type of facility isn’t yet available in all areas of the UK. We suggest you check the situation in your local area first.
