Who we are
Single Use Alternatives was founded by Adrian and Neil; two brothers who are passionate about enjoying the outdoors and caring for the environment. Concerned about the impact single use plastics are having upon the environment, we decided to offer a range of cost effective high quality, alternative products.
To find out more about our products simply browse through our website. If you have any questions we’d love to hear from you: please complete the enquiry form on our contact page.
Our product range
Our website offers over 400 dedicated products made from plant based materials and not oil based plastic. With a huge choice of practical options for serving cold and hot drinks, takeaway food, produce and more, our products are ideal for use in cafés, takeaways, food stalls, catering and events businesses. You’ll find that our products are durable and high quality, including well-known sustainable brands such as Vegware and Biopak.
From compostable double walled coffee cups, lids and holders, through to deli pots, sandwich cartons and takeaway boxes, our products are available in a wide selection of practical sizes. Perfect for packaging everything from fish and chips, pizzas and curries, through to salads, cakes and confectionery, switching to sustainable options doesn’t have to mean compromising on quality or practicality; whether you need 100 coffee cups or 1000s.
How to order
Our dedicated website is mobile-first, user-friendly and fully secure. With easy account set-up and account management, we aim to make ordering as simple and convenient as possible. We’re happy to send free samples of our products and with cost-effective, UK-wide delivery available, ordering sustainable disposable catering supplies is easy.
How our products should be recycled
Our products are made from renewable sources and as such shouldn’t be disposed of with other plastic recycling waste. Instead, our products are fully compostable and biodegradable. For compostable items, we recommend that you check locally for compostable collections in local food waste. Alternatively, home compostable items can be placed in your garden compost bin. However, items will take longer to degrade when composted at home, as the process depends on environmental conditions and the method you use.
Biodegradable items are suitable for compostable collections in local food waste, provided your local council has the special commercial composters required. Again, we suggest you check locally to confirm the situation in your area.
